DESCRIPTION
Carnell Tate delivered seven catches and two touchdowns as Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans offense put together a strong performance against the Chicago Bears in their final joint practice of training camp. Austin Stanley and Easton Freeze report from the Vanderbilt Health Football Center with firsthand observations from both fields: Easton tracked Tennessee’s offense against Chicago’s defense, while Austin also watched the Titans defense challenge Caleb Williams and the Bears offense. Tischoo Co Men’s Grooming ATOZ10: https://tischooco.com/pages/tischoo-co-a-to-z-sports Tate finished with seven receptions on 12 targets, consistently creating opportunities throughout the extended practice. After a relatively quiet stretch of training camp, the Titans rookie wide receiver made contested plays, connected with Ward on scramble drills and repeatedly stood out against Chicago. Ward started slowly with some high throws before settling in and producing several impressive completions. His day included an interception and a dangerous throw to Wan’Dale Robinson, but also the explosive plays Tennessee needed to see from its passing offense. Tony Pollard delivered a deep reception and a long run, Gunner Helm made an impressive one-handed sideline catch, and Chimere Dike caught a touchdown while working with the first-team offense after Robinson left practice. Robinson was being evaluated for a concussion at the time of recording following a hit from former Titans safety Xavier Woods. Austin and Easton discuss the hit, why it crossed the line for a practice setting and what Dike’s subsequent involvement revealed about Tennessee’s receiver depth. On the other field, the Titans defense recovered from Caleb Williams’ strong start. Tennessee generated pressure, tightened up against the run and finished with a Tony Adams end-zone interception during Chicago’s two-minute work. Austin and Easton explain why they gave Tennessee the overall edge against the Bears, putting the Titans at 2-1 in their own evaluations of joint practices against San Francisco, Seattle and Chicago. The report also covers Robert Saleh’s comments about the value of joint practices compared with preseason games—and what these performances can tell us about the Titans entering the 2026 NFL season.
